Озеро Яшилькуль - одно из красивейших озер Памира. Мы правда подъехали не с самой живописной его части???? уперлись в завал с восточной части.
Озеро образовалось много сотен лет назад в результате обвала, вызванного сильным землетрясением, запрудившего долину реки Аличур. Длина завала более 4 км, мощность 100–110 метров. Вода переливается через южный край завала, и именно отсюда берёт начало река Гунт, которая через 200 км впадает в реку Пяндж.
Озеро Яшилькуль расположено на высоте 3700 м. Район озера известен и тем, что зимой здесь зафиксирована самая низкая температура в Центральной Азии – минус 63 градуса С.

Lake Yashilkul is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Pamirs. We really didn’t come from the most picturesque part of it ???? ran into a blockage from the eastern part.
The lake was formed many hundreds of years ago as a result of a landslide caused by a strong earthquake that dammed the valley of the Alichur River. The dam is over 4 km long and 100–110 meters thick. Water overflows over the southern edge of the dam, and it is from here that the Gunt River originates, which after 200 km flows into the Pyanj River.
Lake Yashilkul is located at an altitude of 3700 m.The area of the lake is also known for the fact that in winter it recorded the lowest temperature in Central Asia - minus 63 degrees C.
