Так же не определить и место князя Льва Николаевича в этой новой России. Если хотя бы отчасти верно то, что пишут о Мышкине в газетных пасквилях (а пишут там, что у него около 30 млн рублей состояния), он — один из 1,5 тыс. русских людей, на долю которых приходилось около 6-7% национального дохода России. Сейчас годовые денежные доходы всей 145-миллионной России — порядка 40 трлн. рублей, то есть, если слухи правдивы, князь — обладатель эквивалента нынешних $35 млрд. Впрочем, сам Мышкин говорит, что на деле у него на самом-то деле в восемь-десять раз меньше, то есть, порядка $4 млрд сегодня.
То есть абсолютно не интересующийся деньгами идиот Мышкин все-таки знает, сколько их у него. Поэтому 100 тысяч рублей, которые Настасья Филипповна бросила на сожжение в камин,— сумма хоть и очень немалая при любом рассмотрении, но Мышкина, на этот камин смотрящего, не изумляющая. В загоревшейся пачке (как мы помним, ее вытащили почти не пострадавшей) примерно в 30 раз меньше, чем у него есть: по нынешнему счету — около $130 млн наличными. Сейчас бы такое ни в какой камин не влезло: 8 млрд рублей.
А вот Настасья Филипповна могла бы с этой суммой стать абсолютно независимой: в современной Москве по пальцам можно пересчитать женщин, столь свободных материально.
