После того, как в 2012 году я провёл свой первый #Старкон в Петербурге, а затем мы с [id152511|Мариной] сделали #AVAExpo, меня не оставляло ощущение того, что у наших фестивалей есть огромный потенциал и мы еще многого не показали. И как нельзя кстати именно в этот момент я нашел в сети ролик одного из самых масштбных фестивалей #DragonCon 2012, созданный знаменитой командой #BeatDownBoogie. Яркие краски, много пространства, тысячи участников в костюмах – это впечатлило меня настолько, что я решил поделиться этим роликом со всей командой. Вдохновлённые масштабом и уровнем #DragonCon, мы начали делать Старкон 2013 года. И теперь перед каждым своим фестивалем мы черпаем вдохновение в роликах Beat Down Boogie. И даже в этот раз, работая над Старконом 2015, я то и дело включал их ролики разных годов, когда работал над сценой, стендами и другими составляющими фестиваля. Всё это время я смотрел на шикарный косплей и даже и не мог подумать о том, что в ближайшее время смогу попасть на DragonCon, и уж тем более оказаться в ролике Beat Down Boogie. Но, чёрт побери, именно так и случилось. А теперь просто представьте, каково это увидеть вживую то, на что ты так долго ровнялся. Буря эмоций, масса впечатлений и капля дёгтя...
Просматривая ролики несчётное количество раз и читая отзывы, я даже представить себе не мог масштаб всего происходящего. Центральная часть Атланты, где и проходит сам фестиваль, на четыре дня превращается в совершенно отдельный от всего города мир! Четыре гигантских отеля, десятки кафе, ресторанов, магазинов, клубов и хостелов, парки, улицы и даже балконы – всё было территорией фестиваля. В эти дни не было ни одного места, где бы ты мог избежать встречи с героем того или иного комикса, фильма или сериала. Я уже не говорю о том,что в Атланту в эти дни съезжались сотни водителей #Uber, чтобы заработать и получить свою порцию фана, ведь некоторые из них также не скупились на костюмы и образы. Главное отличие ДрагонКона от наших фестивалей заключается в том, что здесь нет никаких локальных развлечений. Несколько десятков конференц-залов, где проходят тематические встречи, мастер-классы и автограф сессии, всё остальное - это территория для гостей и участников в костюмах. Посетители фестиваля настолько доброжелательны и общительны, что им не нужны поводы для веселья, они сами создают атмосферу праздника вокруг себя. Косплееры сами организуют танцевальные и фото зоны, первыми идут на контакт с теми, кто просто проходит мимо, они спонтанно взаимодействуют друг с другом, даже если их герои из разных вселенных И наблюдать за этим одно удовольствие. Скорее всего, это связано с числом участников, ведь чтобы перездороваться хотя бы с половиной из них, нужно потратить не один день. А если ещё и фотографии делать, так и вообще всех четырёх дней будет мало. При этом хочется упомянуть тот факт, что смотря на лучших из них в роликах Beat Down Boogie, мы придумывали новые способы стимулирования наших косплееров к развитию. И знаете, что получилось в итоге? Многие наши косплееры по качеству исполнения своих костюмов превосходят большинство участников ДрагонКона. Хотя стоит отметить, что большинство участников фестиваля в Атланте делают их не для конкурсов, а для собственного удовольствия. Ведь так и должно быть на любом фестивале! Осознав это, мне очень захотелось в следующем году увидеть и на Старконе сотни костюмов, помимо конкурсантов, сделанных просто для того, чтобы веселиться и отдыхать. Ведь как же здорово было смотреть на отца и сына в костюмах Сокола из вселенной Marvel и на семейку Флинстоунов в полном составе, воссозданную реальной семьей, которая приехала на фестиваль из Чикаго, чтобы развлечься и отдохнуть.Ну разве это не потрясающе?
Кстати говоря, было чертовски приятно ощущать себя не просто косплеером, а самым настоящим супергерое! Каждый проходящий мимо, широко улыбаясь, громко вскрикивал: «Шазам!», давал пять, обнимал, делал сэлфи или ещё как-то проявлял свою любовь к герою, в образе которого мне довелось быть. И если на Старконе каждый второй говорил, что я Флэш, то тут все знали кто я. Хотя была одна очень забавная ситуация, когда ко мне подскочил парень и спросил: «Ты Капитан Марвел или Шазам?», и когда я ответил ему, что я Шазам, он так опечалился, что моментально поник, развернулся и медленно побрёл куда-то с опущенной головой. Вот они, настоящие поклонники олдскула. Ещё было очень смешно, когда ко мне подошел мужчина с двумя детьми и спросил, можно ли со мной сфотографироваться. Я сказал: «Да, конечно!» и уже был готов, что сейчас дети снова для фото вцепятся в мой плащ, как неожиданно он протянул старшему ребёнку фотоаппарат, а второго рукой из кадра подвинул со словами «Выйди из кадра!». Но даже это не сравниться с тем, когда ко мне подошел парень лет 25 и рассказал, что он вырос на комиксах обо мне (да-да, он так и сказал: «Я вырос на комиксах о тебе!») и сейчас его сын тоже растёт на историях о Шазаме. Это было так мило и так здорово, что я до сих пор тронут такой искренностью людей. Уж не знаю, то ли образ мне так подошел, то

After I held my first #Starcon in St. Petersburg in 2012, and then [id152511 | Marina] and I made #AVAExpo, I had the feeling that our festivals have great potential and we haven't shown much yet. And just at that moment I found on the Internet a video of one of the largest festivals #DragonCon 2012, created by the famous #BeatDownBoogie team. And even this time, while working on Starcon 2015, every now and then I included their videos from different years, when I worked on the stage, stands and other components of the festival. All this time, I was looking at gorgeous cosplay and could not even think that in the near future I would be able to get to DragonCon, and even more so to be in the Beat Down Boogie video. But damn it, that's exactly what happened. Now just imagine what it would be like to see live what you have looked up to for so long. A storm of emotions, a lot of impressions and a drop of tar ...
Watching videos countless times and reading reviews, I could not even imagine the scale of everything that was happening. The central part of Atlanta, where the festival itself takes place, turns into a completely separate world from the whole city for four days! Four giant hotels, dozens of cafes, restaurants, shops, clubs and hostels, parks, streets and even balconies - everything was the territory of the festival. These days, there was not a single place where you could avoid meeting the hero of this or that comic book, film or TV series. Not to mention the fact that hundreds of #Uber drivers came to Atlanta these days to earn money and get their fill of fun, because some of them also did not skimp on costumes and looks. The main difference between DragonCon and our festivals is that there is no local entertainment here. Several dozen conference rooms where thematic meetings, master classes and autograph sessions are held, everything else is a territory for guests and participants in costumes. Festival visitors are so friendly and sociable that they do not need reasons for fun, they themselves create a festive atmosphere around them. Cosplayers organize dance and photo zones themselves, they are the first to contact those who just walk by, they spontaneously interact with each other, even if their characters are from different universes. And it's a pleasure to watch this. Most likely, this is due to the number of participants, because to recuperate with at least half of them, you need to spend more than one day. And if you also take photos, then in general all four days will not be enough. At the same time, I would like to mention the fact that looking at the best of them in the Beat Down Boogie videos, we came up with new ways to stimulate our cosplayers to develop. And do you know what happened in the end? Many of our cosplayers surpass most of the DragonCon participants in the quality of their costumes. Although it is worth noting that most of the Atlanta festival participants do them not for competitions, but for their own pleasure. This is how it should be at any festival! Having realized this, I really wanted to see hundreds of costumes on Starkon next year, in addition to the contestants, made just for fun and relaxation. After all, it was great to see the father and son in the costumes of the Falcon from the Marvel Universe and the Flintstone family in full force, recreated by a real family who came to the festival from Chicago to have fun and relax. Isn't that amazing?
By the way, it was damn nice to feel like not just a cosplayer, but a real superhero! Everyone passing by, smiling broadly, loudly cried out: "Shazam!", Gave five, hugged, took a selfie or somehow showed his love for the hero, in whose image I happened to be. And if on Starkon every second said that I was Flash, then everyone here knew who I was. Although there was one very funny situation when a guy jumped up to me and asked: "Are you Captain Marvel or Shazam?", And when I answered him that I was Shazam, he was so sad that he instantly drooped, turned around and slowly wandered off somewhere with bowed head. Here they are, the real fans of old school. It was also very funny when a man with two children approached me and asked if it was possible to take a picture with me. I said, "Yes, of course!" and was already ready that now the children would again cling to my raincoat for a photo, when he suddenly held out the camera to the eldest child, and moved his other hand out of the frame with the words “Get out of the frame!”. But even that cannot be compared to when a guy of about 25 came up to me and told me that he grew up on comics about me (yes, he said: “I grew up on comics about you!”) And now his son too grows on stories about Shazam.
