Вот и закончился AVA Expo. Последний для меня AVA Expo. Это был самый сложный для меня фестиваль и период в жизни. Но я ни о чём не жалею. Я просто расскажу вам одну история…
В далёком, как мне сейчас уже кажется, 2012 году, мы с Мариной начали работать над нашими фестивалями вместе. Тогда оба наших мероприятия проходили в ДК, их суммарная аудитория была не более 2000 человек, у нас не было ни денег, ни партнёров, ни спонсоров. Всё, что у нас было, это желание создавать что-то хорошее и нужное. Именно это, после успешного переноса Старкона из Москвы в Санкт-Петербург, помогло нам перезапустить AVA Expo и уже в начале 2013 года начать менять наши фестивали и всё, что с ними связано, до неузнаваемости. С момента начала нашей работы под именем Geekers мы совершили настоящую революцию в области развлекательных мероприятий. Мы первые в России, кто вывел фестивали из Домов культур в просторные Выставочные комплексы. Мы первые, может быть даже не только в России, кто позволил фанатам не только создавать костюмы, но и целые стенды по их любимым вселенным. Мы определённо первые, кто ввёл совершенно новые условия для всех коспееров, изменив абсолютно всё: от гримёрок и уровня конкурсантов, до сцены и достойных призов. Именно наши фестивали, наш подход к их организации, наше стремление сделать их достойными тех людей, кто в них участвует, дали серьёзный толчок вперёд всему косплей-сообществу, позволив даже самым неуверенным в себе людям начать создавать невероятные по красоте и сложности костюмы, часто не уступающие по качеству зарубежным. И это ли не повод гордиться проделанной работой?
Сегодня я хочу сказать спасибо всем, кто работал над нашими фестивалями, всей прекрасной команде Geekers, каждому кто приложил руку к изменению наших фестивалей до неузнаваемости. То, чего мы вместе добились, заслуживает моего уважения и благодарности. Я очень надеюсь на то, что AVA Expo под руководством Марины, и в надёжных руках части прежней команды, продолжит покорять новые вершины и впереди будут только победы.

The AVA Expo is over. The last AVA Expo for me. It was the most difficult festival and period in my life for me. But I don't regret anything. I'll just tell you one story ...
Back in the distant, as it seems to me now, 2012, Marina and I began to work on our festivals together. Then both of our events were held in the Palace of Culture, their total audience was no more than 2000 people, we had no money, no partners, or sponsors. All we had was the desire to create something good and necessary. This is what, after the successful transfer of Starcon from Moscow to St. Petersburg, helped us restart AVA Expo and already at the beginning of 2013 begin to change our festivals and everything related to them beyond recognition. Since our inception as Geekers, we've revolutionized the entertainment industry. We are the first in Russia who brought festivals from the Houses of Cultures to spacious Exhibition complexes. We are the first, maybe even not only in Russia, who allowed fans not only to create costumes, but also entire stands for their favorite universes. We are definitely the first to introduce completely new conditions for all cosplayers, changing absolutely everything: from the dressing and the level of the contestants, to the stage and worthy prizes. It was our festivals, our approach to their organization, our desire to make them worthy of those people who participate in them that gave a serious impetus forward to the entire cosplay community, allowing even the most insecure people to start creating costumes of incredible beauty and complexity, often not inferior in quality to foreign ones. And isn't this a reason to be proud of the work done?
Today I want to say thank you to everyone who worked on our festivals, to all the wonderful Geekers team, to everyone who had a hand in changing our festivals beyond recognition. What we have achieved together deserves my respect and gratitude. I really hope that AVA Expo, under the leadership of Marina, and in the good hands of a part of the previous team, will continue to conquer new heights and there will be only victories ahead.
