В 2019 году впервые за 26 лет не состоялся сезон Северного Полюса

Мы перенесли сезон Барнео 2019 на 2020 год из-за того, что не смогли достаточно оперативно найти замену самолету АН-74 украинской авиакомпании «Антонов Эйрлайнз»

8 апреля мы получили официальное уведомление от руководства авиакомпании о невозможности выполнения полетов по маршруту Лонгиир-Барнео в связи с отказом Госавиаслужбы Украины выдать этому самолету надлежащее разрешение

Норвежские авиационные власти выдали разрешение этому самолету на полеты на Барнео, чего бы никогда не случилось, если бы авиакомпания не предоставила норвежской стороне все необходимые документы, в том числе и пресловутое разрешение

Что произошло в период с 14 марта по 4 апреля и почему это разрешение было дезавуировано украинскими авиационными властями, не понятно. Однако есть основания полагать, опять-таки опираясь на информацию, полученную от членов экипажа самолета, что определенную роль в развитии ситуации таким образом сыграли «теплые» отношения между странами!

Проект Барнео с 2018 года перестал быть российским, поскольку был передан под управление швейцарской компании и, кроме того, по всем законам околополюсная территория не принадлежит ни Украине, ни России, и никакому иному государству в полном соответствии с Конвенцией ООН по морскому праву, не имели никакого воздействия ни на одну из сторон

Мы вынуждены были отпустить самолет и срочно заниматься поисками адекватной ему замены, что было совершенно непросто

Нам удалось получить канадский Basler BT-67, но только для двух технических рейсов на Барнео, чтобы забрать 16 человек – команду десантников, построивших взлетно-посадочную полосу на Барнео. Между прочим, была построена ледовая ВПП 1000 х 60 м, полностью готовая к приему АН-74. К сожалению, по своим возможностям Basler не мог заменить АН-74 и не отвечал потребностям проекта Барнео

Именно в силу того, что по вышеуказанным причинам нам не удалось найти самолет для выполнения полетов из Лонгиира на Барнео и обратно в разумные сроки, сезон 2019 был отменен и перенесен на 2020 год.

2019 saw no North Pole season for the first time in 26 years

We have postponed the Barneo 2019 season to 2020 due to the fact that we could not quickly find a replacement for the AN-74 aircraft of the Ukrainian airline Antonov Airlines

On April 8, we received an official notification from the airline's management that it was impossible to operate flights on the Longyear-Barneo route due to the refusal of the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine to issue a proper permit to this aircraft.

The Norwegian aviation authorities issued a permit for this aircraft to fly to Barneo, which would never have happened if the airline had not provided the Norwegian side with all the necessary documents, including the notorious permit

What happened in the period from March 14 to April 4 and why this permit was disavowed by the Ukrainian aviation authorities is not clear. However, there is reason to believe, again relying on the information received from the aircraft crew members, that “warm” relations between the countries played a certain role in the development of the situation!

The Barneo project has ceased to be Russian since 2018, since it was transferred under the control of a Swiss company and, in addition, according to all laws, the circumpolar territory does not belong to either Ukraine or Russia, and no other state, in full compliance with the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, did not have no impact on either side

We had to let go of the plane and urgently look for an adequate replacement for it, which was absolutely not easy

We managed to get the Canadian Basler BT-67, but only for two technical flights to Barneo, to pick up 16 people - the team of paratroopers who built the runway on Barneo. Incidentally, an ice runway of 1000 x 60 m was built, completely ready to receive the AN-74. Unfortunately, Basler could not replace the AN-74 in terms of its capabilities and did not meet the needs of the Barneo project.

Precisely due to the fact that for the above reasons, we were unable to find an aircraft to operate flights from Longyearbyen to Barneo and back within a reasonable time frame, the 2019 season was canceled and postponed to 2020.
