Индийцы потрясающе пунктуальны. Сказали, что будем дома в 19.30, значит будем в 20.15 ???? Очень всё ситуативно. Зависит от массы переменных, и может меняться на ходу. Хотя, чувство времени у них есть.
Меня не напрягает, я здесь не строю планы ни на следующие пару часов, ни на уж тем более, завтрашний день.
Я много спрашиваю про жизнь здесь, про обычаи. Начинает складываться впечатление, что #Керала - это отдельный мир в довольно ортодоксальном индийском мире.
Именно Керала является одной из самых прогрессивных частей Индии, где продвигаются достаточно революционные для местного населения идеи.
Думаю, что в отношении свобод, ещё сюда можно приписать #Гоа, где, правда, очень много иностранцев, #Дели, и другие крупные города.
Что касается остальной Индии, то по словам моей местной семьи, во многих местах сохраняются традиции, например, запирания женщин в отдельных помещениях при менструации, или невозможность женщине без мужчины идти одной по улице. Если говорить про отношение женщин к этому, то, тут, пожалуй, можно сравнить ситуацию с исламом: женщина не хочет быть независимой, и уж тем более не знает, как это. В самом их воспитании изначально заложена данная структура. Перешагнуть, как мне кажется, это возможно при огромной силе духа и ума, что дано единицам.
То ли пребывание в этой семье, то ли общая атмосфера штата, но в Керале не создается впечатления глубокой духовности. Люди как люди, со своей жизнью, проблемами, заботами, но с определенной концепцией традиций. Возможно, молодежь с помощью общей глобализации перешагивает и это, но не складывается впечатления, что это массовый поток. Я вот представила, как миллиардное население Индии вдруг переходит в европейские ценности. Ага, да????
Я уже писала про многослойность их понятий.
Понимаете, их культура насчитывает тысячи лет, и их боги, божества, традиции - это как кольца на дереве, предшествующие одно другому, но составляющие единое целое. Эти понятия имеют совершенно потрясающий, уходящий глубоко в прошлое бекграунд, и не просто как артефакт, а как абсолютно живую структуру, как калейдоскоп. Каждый образ здесь впитывал разное от разного, здесь нет застывших древнегреческих мифов, а продолжается история, которая живет и развивается до сих пор. Культура здесь буквально подвижна, хотя и состоит из почти не движимых столпов традиций.
Мне кажется, это одна из причин, почему людей тянет сюда. В Индии ощущается жизнь, ее течение, вовлеченность, какой-то смысл. Но это как картинки и кадры из фильмов, которые мелькают перед глазами. И тут есть ещё одна фишка. Эти картинки могут быть заполнены глубоким духовным смыслом. Но об этом в следующих заметках.

Indians are amazingly punctual. They said that we would be home at 19.30, so we will be at 20.15 ???? Everything is very situational. Depends on a lot of variables, and can change on the fly. Although, they have a sense of time.
It doesn't bother me, I'm not making plans here either for the next couple of hours, or even more so, tomorrow.
I ask a lot about life here, about customs. The impression is starting to appear that #Kerala is a separate world in a rather orthodox Indian world.
It is Kerala that is one of the most progressive parts of India, where ideas that are quite revolutionary for the local population are being promoted.
I think that in terms of freedoms, one can also attribute here # Goa, where, however, there are a lot of foreigners, # Delhi, and other large cities.
As for the rest of India, according to my local family, traditions persist in many places, such as locking women in separate rooms during menstruation, or the inability for a woman to walk alone down the street without a man. If we talk about the attitude of women to this, then, perhaps, we can compare the situation with Islam: a woman does not want to be independent, and even more so does not know how it is. In their very upbringing, this structure was originally laid. It seems to me that it is possible to step over with the enormous strength of spirit and mind, which is given to a few.
Either staying with this family, or the general atmosphere of the state, but Kerala does not create the impression of deep spirituality. People are like people, with their own life, problems, concerns, but with a certain concept of traditions. Perhaps, with the help of general globalization, young people are overstepping this too, but there is no impression that this is a mass flow. I just imagined how the billions of people in India suddenly turns into European values. Yeah yeah ????
I have already written about the multi-layered nature of their concepts.
You see, their culture goes back thousands of years, and their gods, deities, traditions are like rings on a tree that precede one another, but form a single whole. These concepts have an absolutely stunning background that goes deep into the past, and not just as an artifact, but as an absolutely living structure, like a kaleidoscope. Each image here absorbed different from different, there are no frozen ancient Greek myths, but the history continues, which lives and develops to this day. The culture here is literally mobile, although it consists of almost immobile pillars of tradition.
I think this is one of the reasons why people are drawn here. In India, life is felt, its course, involvement, some meaning. But it's like pictures and frames from films that flash before your eyes. And there is one more feature here. These pictures can be filled with deep spiritual meaning. But more about that in the following notes.
