Эта статья ужасна более чем полностью! Однако, к великому удивлению, многие не-антиковеды, когда говорят о римском костюме читают и ссылаются вот на этот морально неустойчивый и устаревший опус. Одной из "вишенок на торте" здесь является рассуждение о том, что в древних текстах про похороны в Риме рядом со словом "тога", есть слова "мертвый" и "похороны"... Автора не удивляло ли то, что в книге с названием "Словарь" есть слова?.. Трактовка источников притянута за такие длинные уши, что нос сказочного китайского помещика Вана (см. "Сказки старого Сюня") кажется коротким и мелким. Еще тога, оказывается: "большое белое шерстяное полотнище, выкроенное в форме эллипса, в два или три раза превышающее рост человека". И после таких пассажей от "уважаемых авторов" мы с коллегами еще ругаемся на студентов, которые в полубогах и " двух третях Гильгамешевой крови" разобраться не могут. - Просто покажите мне МАЛЕНЬКОЕ (!) полотнище, в два или три раза превышающее рост человека)) Про эллипс даже - без комментариев.

One of the “cherries on the cake” here is the argument that in the ancient texts about the funeral in Rome, next to the word “toga”, there are the words “dead” and “funeral” ... Was the author not surprised that the book Does the name “Dictionary” have words? ..
