Эсала Перахера - это многодневный праздник, посвященный поклонению единственной сохранившейся реликвии Будды - зубу Будды. Основное шествие проходит в Канди (куда я как раз собираюсь отправиться завтра), но жители Haputale также праздновали начало этого фестиваля. Finally, luck smiled at me and I got to the national festival! Not just a festival, but the main event of the year in Sri Lanka for Buddhists - the Perahera festival. Esala Perahera is a multi-day celebration dedicated to the worship of the only surviving relic of the Buddha - the tooth of the Buddha. The main procession takes place in Kandy (where I’m just about to go tomorrow), but the residents of Haputale also celebrated the beginning of this festival.
