Милан, Дуомо, интересно, что соборы которые встречала в Италии строятся не на "пустом" месте.
Историческая справка: "На том месте, где стали возводить в 1386 Дуомо, в доисторические времена стояло кельтское святилище, при римлянах храм Минервы, потом церковь Санта-Текла, построенная в IV веке и разрушенная в VI, а с VII века церковь Санта-Мария-Маджоре, которую снесли, когда стали расчищать место для собора."
Есть в этом какая-то магия, что-то скрытое от глаз, священное. Как говорят "свято место пусто не бывает".
