10 июня 2016 года исполняется 90 лет ветерану Великой Отечественной войны, ветерану Вооружённых Сил, капитану 1-го ранга в отставке, сотруднику Института океанологии им. Вся сознательная жизнь Баррикадо Георгиевича связана с флотом. В 1944 году он участвовал в боевом тралении. После войны служил на крейсере «Адмирал Макаров» в должности старшего штурмана. Особой строкой стоит служба на легендарных кораблях измерительного комплекса на Камчатке, где он работал над созданием ракетно-ядерного щита нашей Родины.
С именем Баррикадо Георгиевича связаны первые шаги в практическом решении задач создания отечественной навигационной системы ГЛОНАСС. Беспримерные экспедиции на океанографическом судне «Николай Зубов» в качестве руководителя экспедиции показали возможность использования именно его методов в интересах навигации.
Много сил и энергии Баррикадо Георгиевич отдал созданию совершенно новых кораблей типа «Академик Сергей Вавилов» и «Академик Иоффе», которые являются гордостью отечественного судостроения и гордостью института имени П.П.Ширшова.
Как и прежде, Баррикадо Георгиевич очень активен и энергичен.
