Maungauika, или North Head расположен в районе Окленда Devonport. Райончик этот знаменит тем, что тут очень дорогое жилье. А еще отсюда родом всемирно известная певица Lorde. На вершине North Head расположен форт. История у этого форта довольно интересная...
Давным-давно, когда Новая Зеландия была еще молодой и зеленой колонией Великобритании и не имела вообще никакой охраны в виде фортов-пушек итп, случилось России побыть в состоянии войны с Англией. По этому случаю в бухту Окленда вошел российcкий боевой корабль Касковиский, по-английски Kaskowisky. Тут внимательный читатель должен заподозрить неладное, но!.. Долго ли, коротко ли, но моряки Касковиского захватили британское судно, по случаю заплывшее в бухту, а также захватили все станции телеграфа в городе, оставив его без связи и заодно потребовав выкуп у города.
Надо ли говорить, что на следующее утро у всех жителей Окленда был СЮРПРИЗ, когда 17 февраля 1873 года вышла статья в газете, описывающая эти события?:))
Прикол в том, что автор статьи оказался ЖИРНЮЩИМ ТРОЛЛЕМ, и все это выдумал:
1. Kaskowisky = cask of whiskey (бочонок виски)
2. статья была подписана датой 15 мая, на 3 месяца вперед
3. ... и другие мелкие несостыковки
Но результат всем известен: повсюду понастроили фортов, ибо стало страшно! А автору статьи вручили грамоту "Жир года", и, вероятно, слегка побили... ;Ъ

Once upon a time, when New Zealand was still a young and green colony of Great Britain and had no protection at all in the form of forts, cannons, etc., Russia happened to be at war with England. On this occasion, the Russian warship Kaskovisky, in English Kaskowisky, entered the Auckland Bay. Here the attentive reader should suspect something was amiss, but! .. How long, how short, but Kaskovisky’s sailors captured the British ship, which had swam into the bay on occasion, and also captured all the telegraph stations in the city, leaving it without communication and at the same time demanding a ransom from the city.
Needless to say, the next morning all the inhabitants of Auckland had SURPRISE when on February 17, 1873 an article was published in the newspaper describing these events? :))
The joke is that the author of the article turned out to be a FAT TROLL, and he invented all this:
1. Kaskowisky = cask of whiskey (barrel of whiskey)
2. The article was signed on May 15, 3 months in advance
3. ... and other minor inconsistencies
But the result is known to everyone: everywhere they built forts, because it became scary! And the author of the article was awarded the diploma "Fat of the Year", and probably slightly beaten ...;
