Каждый мужчина в еврейском народе обязан учить Тору: как бедняк, так и богач; как здоровый, так и болезненный; как молодой, так и дряхлый старик; даже нищий, собирающий подаяние, и даже глава многодетной семьи — обязан установить для себя время для изучения Торы днем и ночью, как сказано: «И обсуждайте это днем и ночью» (Йеошуа 1:8).
