Внутри, начиная сверху, располагаются 14 уровней планетных систем, которые иногда еще разделяют на три группы (три мира): высшие, средние и низшие. Наша планета относится к категории средних, и над нами находятся более высокие миры, вершиной которых является «седьмое небо», а под нами находятся «семь кругов ада». Благодаря Ведам теперь эти малопонятные идиомы (седьмое небо, семь кругов ада) обретают свой изначальный смысл. Центральное положение Земли (номер 7) связано со многими «семерками» в нашей жизни. Нам известны 7 цветов радуги, 7 музыкальных нот, 7 чакр в теле, 7 главных планет солнечной системы и 7 дней недели, связанных с этими планетами. Планеты расположены на невидимых нашему глазу плоских дисках, которые называются мандала - круг. 14 мандал (уровней или этажей Вселенной) нанизаны на невидимый стержень, который называется вселенской горой Меру. По виду эта конструкция напоминает детскую пирамидку. Вся эта «арматура» Вселенной находится вне диапазона наших чувств, но без этих тонких конструкций очень сложно понять, на чем здесь все держится. Расстояния между планетами и их орбиты очень точно указаны в Ведах. Например, там сказано, что расстояние от Земли до Луны равно 108 диаметрам Луны. Расстояние от Земли до Солнца равно 108 диаметрам Солнца, а сам диаметр солнца равен 108 диаметрам земли. Все эти цифры соответствуют современным понятиям, но в Ведах они даны задолго до возникновения нашей науки.

The distances between the planets and their orbits are very accurately indicated in the Vedas. For example, it says that the distance from the Earth to the Moon is equal to 108 diameters of the Moon. The distance from the Earth to the Sun is equal to 108 diameters of the Sun, and the diameter of the sun itself is equal to 108 diameters of the earth. All these figures correspond to modern concepts, but in the Vedas they are given long before the advent of our science.
