Президент CCP Games Хилмар Вейгар Петурссон предоставил Kotaku статистику регистрации новых пользователей в EVE Online, из которой следует, что сразу после масштабной битвы в B-R5, прошедшей 27-28 января, в игру пришло 15 тысяч новичков, что стало рекордом за все десять лет существования EVE.
Более точную и подробную статистику можно найти на сайте EVE Offline. По графикам видно, что в среднем за прошедший год в игре ежедневно регистрировалось чуть более 3000 новых аккаунтов. 28 числа, когда в прессе стали появляться первые отчеты о битве, число регистраций возросло до 5 тысяч, а в следующие пять дней (с 29 января по 2 февраля) в игре регистрировалось по 10-11 тысяч аккаунтов. Лишь с 3 января интерес к игре пошел на спад, однако даже вчера в EVE пришло пять тысяч новичков, что почти в два раза больше, чем обычно.
Битва между двумя крупнейшими коалициями игроков в системе B-R5 уже признана разработчиками самым разрушительным сражением в истории EVE Online. В сражении приняли участие 7500 игроков, а в ходе боя погибло 75 титанов — самых крупных и дорогих кораблей в игре (ранее рекордом была потеря 12 кораблей такого типа)
