Сиде - злой город. Нет, не я так решила! Просто до 4 века до нашей эры это был крупнейший центр работорговли! Христианская Византия, конечно, многое изменила. Привнесла свою изысканную эстетику и гуманизм. Но при этом не разрушила старого города, не стёрла с лица земли, а достроила и облагородила. Мы гуляли по руинам древнейших античных улиц. В каждом доме - не менее 5 комнат, не слишком просторных, но "с душой" до мелочей. Поражает величие Агоры (античного форума: культовая и торговая площадь). Прямоугольная площадь форума традиционно обнесена колоннадой. В центре - маленький круглый (обязательно круглый!) храм Фортуны. И главная достопримечательность местности: величественный амфитеатр! Представляете, именно в руинах амфитеатра Сиде (в диазомах и около скены) были обнаружены аутентичные многоразовые билеты на представления: небольшие каменные и глинянные таблички с названием постановки, изображением маски, комментирующей комедия это или трагедия, и номером посадки. В 4 веке до н.э. орхестра амфитеатра была переоборудована: кровавые бойни гладиаторов заменили на морально благочестивые водные игры и представления, и орхестра превратилась в заполняемый бассейн. К сожалению, в субконструкции под скеной нам пройти не удалось (времени было мало), а там все самое интересное и пряталось, наверное!! Ведь всегда все самое интересное происходит на кулисами. Там были клети для зверей, гладиаторов, гримерки актёров, и прочее..

The grandeur of the agora (the ancient forum: the cult and the trading area) is amazing. The rectangular area of the forum is traditionally surrounded by a colonnade. In the center is a small round (necessarily round!) Temple of Fortune. And the main attraction of the area: a magnificent amphitheater! Imagine, it was in the ruins of the Side amphitheater (in the diazomes and near the skena) that authentic reusable tickets for performances were discovered: small stone and clay tablets with the name of the production, the image of the mask commenting on the comedy or the tragedy, and the landing number. In the 4th century BC the amphitheater’s orchestra was refitted: the gladiators ’bloody massacres were replaced by morally pious water games and performances, and the orchestra turned into a filled pool. Unfortunately, we were unable to get into the sub-structure under the wall (there was not enough time), and there all the most interesting things were hiding, probably !! After all, always the most interesting things happen on the backstage. There were crates for animals, gladiators, dressing rooms for actors, and more ..
