метод(дополненный мной) заключается в том ,что...
1. сначала читаешь всякую пургу по англ. (ну предположим все интервью одного любимого актера).Лексика- полная фигня и во всех интервью говорят об одном и том же. Если понимаешь все слова, то идешь дальше.
2.читаешь NY Times или www.Philly.com (мне было нтереснее). Лексика потруднее ,но в основном на простые темы.... Кто кого где убил.... что нового выпустил Apple... Если все понятно , то идешь дальше...
3. Газета SUN (тут долго не задерживаешься).... так - чуть больше слов чем в NY Times
4. Economist-тут они любят со словами загнуть (много новой, по сравнению с предыдущем этапом, лексики).

5 (дополнительный для эстетов :)) Это научные журналы по НЕ твоей специальности.У меня оставалось время до экзамена и я читала медицинский журнал штата Мэйн (он был в открытом доступе :)) и оочень об этом не пожалела не только , не только что бы понимать Amateur Transplants (хотя и это того бы стоило), а так как в тойфеле был мед.текст с соответствующей лексикой.
И немного другой план , что бы устныю лексику выучить......

У меня лучше всего работал такой метод:
Смотришь фильм без субтитров. Если не расслышал фразу - прокручиваешь назад. Если опять не понял - еще раз. Если раза с пятого не понял - включаешь субтитры.
Неизвестные слова выписываешь вместе с контекстом. После фильма пробегаешь по записям. На следующий день повторяешь.
Языковая среда - это самое то! Я приехала в Германию вообще не зная языка. 6 часов в неделю в Фольхсхохошулле с такими же горемыками + каждый вечер до обалдения просмотр немецкого ТВ. Результат: заговорила чуть-чуть через 2 месяца, а через полгода никто не мог поверить, что я приехала с нулевым знанием языка.
В Канаде провела год. Сначала было трудно, но потом в голове всплыл школьный английский, а месяца через два это уже был широкий поток. Оказалось, что могу читать детективы на английском, что меня очень поразило, потому что не подозревала даже глубины своих знаний.

the method (supplemented by me) is that ...
1. First you read all the snowstorm in English. (well, suppose all the interviews of one favorite actor). Vocabulary is complete garbage and in all interviews they say the same thing. If you understand all the words, then you go further.
2. you read the NY Times or www.Philly.com (I was more interested). The vocabulary is harder, but mainly on simple topics .... Who killed whom somewhere .... Apple released the new ... If everything is clear, then you go further ...
3. Newspaper SUN (you can’t stay here for a long time) .... so - a little more words than in the NY Times
4. Economist, here they like to bend with words (a lot of new vocabulary compared to the previous stage).

5 (optional for aesthetes :)) These are scientific journals in NOT your specialty. I had time before the exam and I read the Maine medical journal (it was in the public domain :)) and didn’t regret it not only, not just to understand Amateur Transplants (although it would be worth it), and since there was medical text in the shoe with the appropriate vocabulary.
And a slightly different plan to learn the oral vocabulary ......

You write out unknown words along with the context. After the movie, run through the notes. Repeat the next day.
The language environment is the very thing! I came to Germany without knowing the language at all. 6 hours a week in Volkhshokhoshulla with the same miserables + every evening until awesome watching German TV. Result: I spoke a little after 2 months, and after six months no one could believe that I arrived with zero knowledge of the language.
Spent a year in Canada. At first it was difficult, but then school English came up in my head, and after two months it was already a wide stream. It turned out that I could read detective stories in English, which struck me very much because I did not even suspect the depth of my knowledge.
