Мы хотели бы привлечь Ваше внимание к ситуации коптской православной христианки в Судане, приговоренной в данный момент к смертной казни за отказ отречения от Христа. Мериам была осуждена по суданским законам, когда властям стало известно, что её отец был мусульманином. Исполнение приговора было отсрочено, так как она находилась на 8ом месяце беременности. Теперь её могут казнить в любой момент, при этом новорожденную дочь и старшего сына не отдадут отцу, так как он христианин.

Американцы и международные организации уже пытаются ей помочь, но нам кажется, что не лишним будет и голос такой крупной страны как Россия. Хоть мы и не в состоянии защитить всех угнетенных христиан, но в данном случае Россия вполне могла бы вступиться за Мериам и её детей. Мы просим Вас помочь в донесении этой идеи до МИД РФ, а также в распространении истории за пределы узко-религиозных сайтов.

We would like to draw your attention to the situation of a Coptic Orthodox Christian in Sudan, who is currently sentenced to death for refusing to renounce Christ. Meriam was convicted under Sudanese law when the authorities learned that her father was a Muslim. The execution of the sentence was delayed, as she was eight months pregnant. Now she can be executed at any time, while the newborn daughter and the eldest son will not be given to the father, since he is a Christian.
