Там Петр при свидетелях отодрал оклад и, разорив икону, показал присутствующим две небольшие лунки в доске напротив глаз Богородицы. В них лежали кусочки масла. А в глазах Богородицы ушлые попы прокололи дырочки. Когда возле иконы ставили свечи и вешали лампаду, масло растапливалось и начинало потихоньку сочиться через дырочки в слое краски.
