Арт-рок мюзикл "БиармИя" основан на одноименной поэме Каллистрата Жакова. Само слово Биармия - это географическое название, ничего общего не имеющее с милитаристской темой. Биармия, Бьярмия, Бьярмаланд - это страна из прошлого, которая располагалась там, где сейчас Коми край. Граничила она с Великой Пармой. Соответственно , герои мюзикла - это жители Биармии и Пармы.
В основе спектакля - рассказ о любви длиной в целую жизнь. Начинается она с того, что пермский князь Яур отправляется в Биармию за невестой - Райдой. Она оставляет дом, рожает Яуру сына и становится частью Пармы. Подобное сухое изложение сюжета не может передать всю красоту этой истории. Спектакль нужно смотреть. Он наполнен музыкой, светом, символами. Часть стихов проговаривается, часть становится песнями, которые талантливо исполняются вживую.
Поэма, созданная на основе легенд о Биармии, превращается в современный мюзикл, и при этом сохраняет в себе сказочный ореол истории о героях, князьях, о любви, о сказочных существах, населявших леса Великой Пармы, и о вечности.
