«Улисса» я читала в универе. Читала очень плохо. В начале каждого полугодия на филфаке тебе выкатывают огроменный список литературы, и ты как стахановец во времена войны встаешь к станку и начинаешь читать по сто страниц в день. И вот к середине полугодия ты уже набираешь обороты, и тут доходит очередь до «Улисса», и в машине случается сбой. Ничего непонятно. Быстро читать не получается. Кто все эти персонажи?
Я помню, что этот роман я больше читала по комментария Хоружего, нежели чем сам текст.
В голове остались только три главы: «Навсикая», потому что эта сцена перекликается в «Портретом художника в юности», который мне очень понарвился; «Итака», потому что выбрана интересная форма (катехизиса) и «Пенелопа», потому что это женское.
В общем, помнила я мало. Хотелось посмотреть, как это можно трансформировать в спектакль. Шикарно!!!!
Было три акта. В первом акте меня начало немного клонить в сон, (но не потому что скучно, а потому что я мало сплю). Но кофе и бутерброд в антракте помогли мне. И второй акт прошел на ура. А третий акт – это просто подарок. Игра Кутеповой безупречна! И столько в этом женского. И такого смешного и понятного.
Режиссеру удалось прекрасным образом найти средства передать весь этот поток жизни, эти вспышки воспоминаний, озарений, и даже найти место для гуманизма и патетики, но так что в это веришь и принимаешь. Как прекрасно переданы ощущения Стивена от потери матери! А горечь по погибшему Руди!

I read Ulysses at the university. I read very poorly. At the beginning of each half-year, a huge list of literature is rolled out at the philology department, and you, as a Stakhanovite during the war, get up to the machine and start reading one hundred pages a day. And by the middle of half a year you are already gaining momentum, and then the turn comes to Ulysses, and the car crashes. It's unclear. I can’t read quickly. Who are all these characters?
I remember that I read this novel more from the comment of Khoruzhego than the text itself.
Only three chapters remained in my head: “Nausicaa,” because this scene echoes the “Portrait of an artist in his youth,” which I really liked; “Ithaca,” because an interesting form (catechism) was chosen, and “Penelope,” because it is feminine.
In general, I remembered a little. I wanted to see how this can be transformed into a play. Great !!!!
There were three acts. In the first act, I started to get a little sleepy (but not because I'm bored, but because I sleep little). But coffee and a sandwich during the intermission helped me. And the second act went off with a bang. And the third act is just a gift. Kutepova’s game is impeccable! And so much in this is female. And so funny and understandable.
The director was able to find in a wonderful way the means to convey this whole stream of life, these flashes of memories, insights, and even find a place for humanism and pathos, but so you believe and accept it. How beautifully Stephen’s feelings about losing his mother are conveyed! And the bitterness of the deceased Rudy!
