«Пьеса Гоголя — своего рода трактат об игре, притча о душах, которые вновь и вновь переживают азарт и риск. Игра — опасная, пограничная территория: с одной стороны — искусство, с другой — рабство, зависимость, наркотик. Мы хотим раскрыть тайные пружины и сущность игры. Главные роли в спектакле исполнят женщины. Мне кажется, что актриса наиболее способна к сценической трансформации и наилучшим образом может выразить природу игрока. В этом произведении очень остро показана нравственная составляющая риска, а также образ души, вступающей в союз с некими силами, которые могут ее не только возвысить, но и низвергнуть». Игорь Яцко
