Сергей Женовач о спектакле «Брат Иван Федорович»: «В основе этого спектакля – 11-ая книга романа «Братья Карамазовы», одного из определяющих произведений всей русской литературы. Ясно, что сам роман «неподъемен» не только по объему, но и по концентрации идей, мыслей, обилию характеров, столкновений, неразрешенных проклятых вопросов. Поэтому наиболее верный, как мне кажется, путь к постижению этой «вечной» книги — сфокусировать внимание либо на каком-то одном персонаже, либо на какой-то сюжетной линии.
Герои этого романа – молодые люди в процессе осмысления того, как жить, во что верить и как распорядиться своей жизнью. Часто и в кинематографе, и в театре эти роли играют уже зрелые актеры, и от этого возникает перекос. Получаются рефлексирующие герои, но в романе-то они другие – ищущие истины на пороге жизни".

Sergei Zhenovach about the play “Brother Ivan Fedorovich”: “The basis of this performance is the 11th book of the novel“ The Brothers Karamazov ”, one of the defining works of all Russian literature. It is clear that the novel itself is "unbearable" not only in volume, but also in concentration of ideas, thoughts, an abundance of characters, clashes, unresolved damned questions. Therefore, the most true, it seems to me, the way to comprehend this "eternal" book is to focus attention either on any one character, or on some storyline.
The heroes of this novel are young people in the process of understanding how to live, what to believe in and how to manage their lives. Often in the cinema and in the theater, these roles are already played by mature actors, and this creates a skew. Reflecting heroes are obtained, but in the novel they are different - seekers of truth on the threshold of life. "
