Зак Брафф снял на удивление добрый и цепляющий фильм о самых ценных из ценностей и сыграл в нём главную роль. О семье, в первую очередь, о большой мечте, о вере и верности, о страхах и мужестве и о том, как с обычными людьми в одночасье случается жизнь в самом жестоком и неожиданном смысле. А также о том, что и типичный неудачник, живущий в трейлере, и заурядный офисный клерк по-своему удивительны, стоит только им найти то особенное, что их вдохновляет, даже если это мороженое с жареным миндалем. В фильме нет лишнего пафоса и приторных сантиментов, а сцены "о главном" гармонично разбавлены хорошим браффовским юмором. "Хотел бы я быть здесь" просится к просмотру с близкими людьми, его хочется показать всей семье и друзьям, и просто всем вокруг как иллюстрацию к жизни каждого из них, каждого из нас, как полуторачасовой повод задуматься. Немного похож на Уолтера Митти, только про другое.

First of all, about a family, about a big dream, about faith and fidelity, about fears and courage, and about how life happens to ordinary people overnight in the most cruel and unexpected sense. And the fact that both the typical loser living in the trailer and the ordinary office clerk are amazing in their own way, they only need to find something special that inspires them, even if it is ice cream with roasted almonds. There is no excess pathos and cloying sentiments in the film, and the scenes about the main are harmoniously diluted with good Braffian humor. “I would like to be here” asks for viewing with loved ones, I want to show it to all my family and friends, and just to everyone around me as an illustration to the life of each of them, each of us, as an hour and a half reason to think. A bit like Walter Mitty, just about the other.
