Helloween - главный праздник нечистой силы, который еще совсем недавно широко праздновался лишь только в США, Канаде, а теперь приобретает все большую популярность в Европе.

Из истории Хэллоуина известно, что это исконно кельтский праздник. Сейчас его отмечают везде, где ступала нога потомков кельтов: Англия, Ирландия, Шотландия...

Кельты считали, что вечером 31 октября существа из мира мертвых свободно проникают в мир живых, творя разные гадости. Согласно их мифологии, в ночь Самхэйна не только лето сменялось зимой, а день - ночью, но и жизнь - смертью, а все барьеры между материальным и сверхъестественным, миром живых и миром мертвых временно устранялись, и между ними открывались ворота в прошлое и будущее.

Хелоуин предшествует древнему ацтекскому Дню мертвых. По испански звучит красиво - Día de Muertos, да и атрибуты тоже красивые: вербена, бархатцы, сахарные черепа. В эти дни в Мексике, Гондурасе, Сальвадоре устраивается карнавал, готовятся сладости в виде черепов и фигурок скелетов.

А у христиан есть свой праздник - День всех святых.
Празднуется он католической церковью 1 ноября. All hallow ees (Месса всех святых) — таково было его искаженное староанглийское название, так что «Хэллоуин» — это не более чем «Канун Оллхолуиса».

В этот день принято переодеваться в страшные костюмы, шуметь, петь и всячески веселиться. А причиной такому поведению стали языческие корни праздника. Ранее считалось, что на Хэллоуин вся нечисть вылезает из своих укрытий и ищет жертв. Поэтому люди пытались как можно правдоподобнее перевоплотиться в темные силы, чтобы не привлекать к себе внимание, или же вообще не показываться из дома.

Одним из основных атрибутов праздника является "светильник Джека" (англ. jack-o’- lantern) в виде головы из вырезанной тыквы с зажжённой свечой или электрической подсветкой внутри. Тыква символизирует конец сбора урожая, вырезанная страшная маска из тыквы - злого духа, а свеча горящая внутри отпугивает нечистую силу. ????????♀️Раньше люди верили, что вырезанные в тыкве страшные физиономии отпугивают злых духов. Поэтому, дамы, всем тыкву на ногти в качестве оберега ????
