Негомбо-Канди
Поездка из Негомбо в Канди ничем особенным не была отмечена. Была пересадка на автобусной станции одного из городов. Но для меня уже не стресс ехать с пересадками на местных видах транспорта. Местные довольно хорошо говорят по-английски. А как говорится, язык до Киева доведёт. Очень помогают различные приложения на айфоне (Google Maps - рулит, но к нему в дополнение Шриланка 2016, FourSquare, Sri Lanka).
Непосредственно в Канди жизнь сосредоточена вокруг озера-пруда в центре города. Тут же буддийские святыни и храмы. Вход в храмы в одежде ниже колен (шорты - не вариант), для тех кто хочет пройти в шортах надо арендовать или купить штаны-шаровары (естественно стоимость завышена вместо 50 рупий - 1000 и выше).
Рискнул покушать в местных уличных забегаловках (они называют это рестораном), для туристов отдельное меню с соответствующим ценником. Очень порадовали фруктовые коктейли, от 50 - до 200 рупий за стакан, в зависимости от места.
Алкогольный магазин - редкость, только в специально отведённых местах и не дёшево. Местный литр рома 2000 рупий (1000₽).
Местность, которую мы выбрали для ночлега, расположенную от центра Канди в 9 км - Heavens holiday resort - больше похожа на стоянку маршрутчиков. Добираться из Канди на 621 автобусе от остановки (названия не помню, не далеко от ЖД вокзала) до остановки Heavens.
Небесных видов тут не было. Номер простой с видом на "помойку" - неблагоустроенную территорию. За кондиционер надо было доплатить 1000 рупий в день. Уюта или внимания со стороны персонала я не почувствовал. Дёшево и сердито. Стоит своих денег 600₽/сутки. Завтрак стоил не дёшево 500 рупий (250₽), ужин 600 рупий (300₽). Взял попробовать ужин (лень было в город выбираться), не понравилось.
Удивительно, но здесь отвратительно готовят курицу. Она сухая, жёсткая, тёмно-коричневого или цвета карри, на вкус - кусок подошвы.
На тук-туке до центра Канди 400 рупий (200₽), дорога живописная. Накатался вдоволь на Тук-Туке.

Negombo Kandy
The trip from Negombo to Kandy was not marked by anything special. There was a transplant at the bus station of one of the cities. But for me it’s no longer stress to go with transfers on local modes of transport. The locals speak pretty good English. And as they say, the language will bring to Kiev. Various applications on the iPhone help a lot (Google Maps drives, but to it Sri Lanka 2016, FourSquare, Sri Lanka are in addition).
Directly in Kandy, life is centered around a lake-pond in the city center. There are Buddhist shrines and temples. The entrance to the temples in clothes below the knees (shorts is not an option), for those who want to go in shorts, you need to rent or buy harem pants (of course, the cost is too high instead of 50 rupees - 1000 and above).
I ventured to eat in local street eateries (they call it a restaurant), for tourists a separate menu with an appropriate price tag. Very pleased with the fruit shakes, from 50 to 200 rupees per glass, depending on the place.
A liquor store is a rarity, only in specially designated places and not cheap. The local liter of rum is 2000 rupees (1000₽).
The area that we chose for the night, located 9 km from the center of Kandy - Heavens holiday resort - is more like a parking lot of minibuses. To get from Kandy on the 621 bus from the stop (I don’t remember the name, not far from the railway station) to the Heavens stop.
There were no heavenly species. The room is simple with a view of the "trash" - an unfavorable territory. For air conditioning had to pay 1000 rupees per day. I did not feel the comfort or attention from the staff. Cheap and cheerful. Worth the money 600 rubles / day. Breakfast cost not cheaply 500 rupees (250 rubles), dinner 600 rupees (300 rubles). I took a dinner to try (it was too lazy to get out to the city), I didn’t like it.
Surprisingly, the chicken is disgustingly cooked here. It is dry, stiff, dark brown or curry-colored; it tastes like a piece of the sole.
On a tuk-tuk to the center of Kandy 400 rupees (200₽), the road is picturesque. I dashed off plenty on Tuk-Tuk.
