На следующий день после окончания лагеря, 22 февраля, на Шри-Ланке случилось полнолуние. Полнолуния на Шри-Ланке это национальный праздник. Внимание! Все полнолуния это выходной день. Т.е. приблизительно раз в месяц ланкийцы могут отдохнуть дополнительно.
В этот день был назначен общий сбор для участников лагеря на посещение вечерней службы в буддийском храме в соседней деревне Додандува.
На службу в день луны лучше приходить в белой одежде. Приносить цветы, масло, благовония и обязательно воду.
Вода на службе в храме имеет особое значение. Она приносится в бутылках, чашах, горшках или больших бадьях.
Службу веден молодой монах. Полноватый мальчик лет 18ти. Он приходит на службу под большим зонтиком. Прихожане приветствуют его громким единым возгласом. Он читает молитву перед священным деревом Будды. Это дерево занимает особое место в религии буддизма. Считается, что именно под этим деревом Будда обрел просветление. На Шри Ланку были привезены побеги этого самого дерева и они здесь прижились. Теперь во всех храмах Шри-Ланки есть это дерево. Дерево Будды ограждено небольшими стенами и выглядит оно так, как будто растет прямо из постройки.
Так вот. После молитв нужно обойти дерево несколько раз держа в руках сосуды с принесенной и уже благословленной водой. После этого можно подняться на специальный постамент где расположены чаши и трубы ведущие к корням дерева и вылить туда воду. Тогда Ваши молитвы дойдут куда нужно и обязательно исполняться.
