Дивеево-одно из самых популярных Святых мест России.
Село возникло в 1559 году. Существуют несколько версий происхождения его названия. Наиболее распространённая версия гласит, что своё название село получило по имени первого владельца — ногайского мурзы Дивея, сына Мокшева Бутакова. Позднее, в конце XVII века основная часть потомков Дивея (Дивеевы) приняли православие. Князья Дивеевы владели Князь-Ивановым (ныне Маевка), что в 3 км от Дивеева.
Троицкий собор Серафимо-Дивеевского монастыря
Во второй половине XVIII века в Дивееве была построена небольшая деревянная церковь в честь Святителя Николая Чудотворца и архидьякона Стефана. Расположение села Дивеева на пересечении паломнических дорог давало возможность путникам, шедшим в Саровский монастырь, найти в церкви приют и отдых. Под свой кров для отдыха храм принял и странницу Агафью Семёновну Мельгунову, которая в 1767 году начала строить в Дивееве каменный храм в честь Казанской иконы Божией Матери (освящён в 1772 году). После освящения всех трёх приделов храма Агафья решила устроить общину. В 1788 году она получила в дар от помещицы Ждановой 1300 кв. сажен земли рядом с храмом, где построила три кельи с надворными строениями. Всё необходимое для жизни, включая пищу, им доставляли из Саровской обители. Незадолго до кончины матушку Александру посетили саровские старцы и преподобный Серафим Саровский, которого она попросила позаботиться об общине.
Спасо-Преображенский собор
Одной из дивеевских святынь является Канавка Божьей Матери, находящаяся на территории Свято-Троицкого Серафимо-Дивеевского женского монастыря. По преданию Серафима Саровского, антихрист в последние времена не сможет преодолеть её.
В окрестностях монастыря располагаются шесть святых источников, пять из них находятся на территории Дивеева:
Источник в честь Казанской иконы Божией Матери. При расчистке этого источника в советские годы была найдена Казанская икона Божией Матери.
Источник святого Пантелеимона.
Источник в честь иконы Божией Матери Умиление.
Источник Матушки Александры. В 2003 году попечением коллектива Волгодонской АЭС источник был благоустроен, построены новые часовня и купальня.

The most common version says that the village got its name after the first owner - Nogai Murza Divey, son of Mokshev Butakov. Later, at the end of the XVII century, the main part of the descendants of Divey (Diveyevo) converted to Orthodoxy. The princes of Diveyevo owned Prince-Ivanov (now Mayevka), which is 3 km from Diveevo.
Trinity Cathedral of the Seraphim-Diveevo Monastery
In the second half of the 18th century, a small wooden church was built in Diveevo in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and Archdeacon Stephen. The location of the village of Diveeva at the intersection of pilgrimage roads made it possible for travelers who went to the Sarov Monastery to find shelter and rest in the church. The temple was taken under its shelter by the wanderer Agafya Semyonovna Melgunova, who in 1767 began to build a stone temple in Diveevo in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God (consecrated in 1772). After the consecration of all three chapels of the temple, Agafia decided to build a community. In 1788, she received a gift from the landowner Zhdanova 1300 square meters. Sazhen land near the temple, where she built three cells with outbuildings. Everything necessary for life, including food, was delivered to them from the Sarov monastery. Shortly before her death, mother Alexander was visited by Sarov elders and the Monk Seraphim of Sarov, whom she asked to take care of the community.

Source in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. When clearing this source in the Soviet years, the Kazan icon of the Mother of God was found.
