пока все увлечены политикой, я рискну влезть со своей непопулярной, но очень важной для меня лично темой. Касается она храма св. Иоанна Шанхайского и Сан-Францисского в Колчестере, который оказался моим временным духовным пристанищем. Сегодня он остро нуждается в нашей помощи.
Это самый большой деревянный православный храм в Англии, играющий исключительную роль не только с религиозной точки зрения (он регулярно окормляет более 400 человек со всех уголков Англии, многие из которых являются выходцами из более чем 20 стран мира), но и с социальной, поскольку выполняет функцию интеграции и адаптации (http://orthodoxengland.org.uk/appealrus.htm) русскоговорящих мигрантов в Англии.
Раньше он был англиканским храмом, построенным специально для окормления британских военных, отправлявшихся на восточную войну с Россией 1853-1856 гг. Шесть лет назад военный гарнизон был перенесён и городские власти Колчестера выставили храм на продажу. Его нынешний настоятель fr. Andrew Philips (уникальный человек - чистокровный англичанин, самостоятельно выучивший русский, принявший православие, создавший сайт Православная Англия (http://orthodoxengland.org.uk/hp.php), принявший живое участие в процессе воссоединения РПЦЗ и РПЦ 2007 года, про него на Википедии (http://orthodoxwiki.org/Andrew_Phillips)) и несколько его друзей выиграли тендер на покупку храма и относящихся к нему зданий за собственные средства и частные пожертвования, которые удалось к тому времени собрать.
Храм св. Иоанна Шанхайского и Сан-Францисского в Колчестере исключен из централизованного и постоянного финансирования со стороны РПЦ, поскольку входит в юрисдикцию Русской православной церкви за рубежом (РПЦЗ). В связи с этим, все расходы по эксплуатации здания (вода, газ, электричество, а также обслуживание электроприборов, радиаторов отопления, пожарной сигнализации и огнетушителей), ежегодные налоги, составляющие 4000 фунтов, расходы по проведению богослужений, - все это лежит на плечах о. Андрея и небольшом костяке постоянных прихожан храма.
Поскольку храм деревянный, его стенам и полу требуется постоянный ремонт, который обходится недешево. Так, обработка и покраска только 3 стен стоит 11 тыс. фунтов, модернизация внутреннего освещения 15 тыс. фунтов, а покрытие пола 20 тыс. фунтов. Строительные и ремонтные работы в Англии стоят очень дорого, а это тот тип работ, который требуeт профессионального участия.
Я понимаю, что у всех из вас есть дела поважнее какого-то храма где-то там за бугром, но я лично был бы вам всем очень признателен, если получится что-то из ниже перечисленного:

Six years ago, the military garrison was relocated and the city of Colchester put up a temple for sale. His current abbot fr. Andrew Philips (a unique person - a purebred Englishman who independently learned Russian, converted to Orthodoxy, created the Orthodox England website (http://orthodoxengland.org.uk/hp.php), who took a live part in the reunification of the ROCOR and the ROC in 2007, about him on Wikipedia (http://orthodoxwiki.org/Andrew_Phillips)) and several of his friends won a tender for the purchase of the temple and its buildings at its own expense and private donations, which had been collected by then.
Church of St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco in Colchester is excluded from centralized and continuous funding from the Russian Orthodox Church, as it is under the jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (ROCA). In this regard, all the expenses for the operation of the building (water, gas, electricity, as well as the maintenance of electrical appliances, heating radiators, fire alarms and fire extinguishers), annual taxes amounting to 4,000 pounds, the cost of worship, all this lies on the shoulders of . Andrew and a small skeleton of permanent parishioners of the temple.
Since the temple is wooden, its walls and floor require constant repairs, which are expensive. Thus, the processing and painting of only 3 walls costs 11 thousand pounds, the modernization of interior lighting 15 thousand pounds, and the floor covering 20 thousand pounds. Construction and repair work in England is very expensive, and this is the type of work that requires professional participation.
I understand that all of you have more important things to do than some temple somewhere over the hill, but I personally would greatly appreciate it if you could get any of the following:
