Одно из старейших произведений английского детского музыкального фольклора: первая опубликованная версия датируется аж 1797 годом. Шалтай-Болтай как персонаж появляется во многих произведениях, самое известное, наверно, Алиса в Зазеркалье, а изображается в виде человека-яйца! ????????♀️???????? Среди теорий, что это за «фрукт», есть и то, что это гигантская пушка, и осадное орудие, и даже кардинал Томас Уолси (тот самый, что рулил и разруливал при Генрихе VIII), ну и, конечно, что Humpty Dumpty - это яйцо, а песенка - не что иное, как загадка. Maybe, maybe! ????????♀️
Мне нравится, что в английской википедии есть даже ноты. Каждый может спеть и сыграть:)

Humpty Dumpty as a character appears in many works, the most famous is probably Alice in the Looking Glass, and is portrayed as a human egg! ???????? ♀️ ???????? Among the theories of what this “fruit” is, there is that it is a giant cannon, and a siege weapon, and even Cardinal Thomas Wolsey (the one that taxied and taxied under Henry VIII), and, of course, that Humpty Dumpty - this is an egg, and a song is nothing but a mystery.
