По ком звонит украинский колокол
Можно обойти эту тему стороной, сделать вид, что ничего не происходит или происходит, да не у нас; или вообще сказать, что политика, а тем более политика чужой страны, меня мало интересует, но все это не так. Всю неделю я был прикован к событиям на Украине.
Невозможное, трагичное и ошеломляющее происходит на Украине, в голове не укладывается, как такое могло случиться. На глазах мирный протест перерос в гражданскую войну. Центр Киева стал зоной боевых действий. А кадры с улиц напоминают Грозный 90-х. Какая там олимпиада в Сочи? Какие еще успехи наших спортсменов? Там люди насмерть стоят за свои идеалы. Сотни погибших и огромное число искалеченных людей, и все это происходит рядом, он-лайн, в такой, казалось бы, понятной Украине.
Когда вся эта история с евроинтергацией и Майданом началась, мне казалось, пошумят и разойдутся. Но нет, новый год и снова Майдан встал. В последнее время события, в том числе трагические, происходят с такой частотой, что и память за ними с трудом поспевает. Не успели отойти от Волгограда, пора радоваться Олимпиаде в Сочи. А вот теперь революция на Украине: Майдан, Янукович, Тягнебок, «Правый сектор», «титушки»…
Кстати, «титушки» – чем не название для омоновцев, разгоняющих мирные демонстрации и выхватывающего людей из толпы? (как возле Замоскворецкого суда, например).
Меня в украинской революции поразило многое.
Сильнее всего, естественно, этот чудовищный расстрел или отстрел (иначе и не назовешь) безоружных людей снайперами. В четверг вечером многим казалось, что этим и закончится Майдан – его просто некому будет защищать. И тут на следующий день поступают новости об уступках Януковича, перевыборах и долгожданном перемирии. «Беркут» покидает центр города, а депутаты страну. Наверняка, именно человеческие жертвы определили исход этого противостояния – когда руки у власти в крови, много ли у нее шансов на самосохранение.
Но прежде всего, меня удивила самоорганизация людей на Майдане. Это же настоящий фронт со своей передовой, медицинским обеспечением и тылом. Нескончаемый поток покрышек, коктейлей, разбор тротуаров, строительство баррикад, полевая кухня и медицина, самоотверженность врачей и волонтеров, устроивших госпитали вблизи передовой, «армия обороны Майдана», традиционное воскресное вече, общие молитвы и исполнение гимна всей площадью.
И ведь наверняка к тем же врачам в мирное время было сложно попасть на прием, и люди жаловались на медицину в целом. А теперь все вместе и все заодно. Теперь, когда пережито вместе столько страданий и горя, есть боевой опыт борьбы за свою страну (а ведь именно трудности объединяют, а не совместное более-менее сытое пребывание на одной территории), кажется, вот-вот появится настоящее гражданское общество и мечта выстроить заново свою Украину, независимую и процветающую непременно сбудется.
Рано, конечно, поздравлять Майдан и всю Украину с долгожданной победой. Еще не ясна позиция людей живущих на востоке и юге страны, а с их мнением тоже необходимо считаться. Да и программа экономического развития страны тоже весьма желательна – на одной политике долго не протянешь. Но вот за что майдановцам действительно нужно сказать спасибо, так это за урок. Урок для соседних диктаторов, которые нет-нет, да и задумаются: а может все-таки хватит самодержавия, и с людьми пора уже научиться договариваться, а не разгонять, сажать и давить.

For whom the Ukrainian bell rings
You can bypass this topic, pretend that nothing is happening or is happening, but not with us; or even say that politics, and especially politics of a foreign country, interests me little, but all this is not so. All week I was confined to events in Ukraine.
The impossible, tragic and stunning takes place in Ukraine, it does not fit in my head how this could happen. Before our eyes, a peaceful protest grew into a civil war. The center of Kiev has become a war zone. And shots from the streets resemble Grozny of the 90s. What is the Olympics in Sochi? What are the successes of our athletes? There, people stand to their ideals to death. Hundreds of dead and a huge number of mutilated people, and all this is happening nearby, online, in such a seemingly understandable Ukraine.
When the whole story with Eurointegration and Maidan began, it seemed to me that they would make some noise and disperse. But no, the New Year and Maidan stood up again. Recently, events, including tragic ones, have been occurring with such frequency that their memory can hardly keep up. Do not have time to move away from Volgograd, it's time to enjoy the Olympics in Sochi. And now the revolution in Ukraine: Maidan, Yanukovych, Tyagnebok, “Right Sector”, “Titus” ...
By the way, "aunts" - what is not a name for riot police, dispersing peaceful demonstrations and snatching people out of the crowd? (as near the Zamoskvoretsky court, for example).
A lot of things struck me in the Ukrainian revolution.
Most of all, of course, this monstrous shooting or shooting (otherwise you can not name) unarmed people as snipers. On Thursday evening, many thought that this would end the Maidan - there simply would be no one to protect it. And then the next day there is news about Yanukovych's concessions, re-election and the long-awaited truce. "Golden eagle" leaves the city center, and deputies the country. Surely, it was the human victims who determined the outcome of this confrontation - when the hands in power are in the blood, how many chances are there for self-preservation.
But first of all, I was surprised by the self-organization of people on the Maidan. This is a real front with its advanced medical support and rear services. An endless stream of tires, cocktails, sidewalks, building barricades, field kitchen and medicine, the dedication of doctors and volunteers who set up hospitals near the front line, the "Maidan Defense Army", the traditional Sunday evening, general prayers and the anthem throughout the square.
And after all, it was probably hard to get an appointment with the same doctors in peacetime, and people complained about medicine in general. And now all together and all at the same time. Now that so much suffering and grief has been experienced together, there is a combat experience in the struggle for one’s country (and it is precisely the difficulties that unite, rather than a joint more or less well-fed stay in one territory), it seems that a real civil society and the dream to rebuild are about to appear its Ukraine, independent and prosperous, will certainly come true.
It is early, of course, to congratulate the Maidan and the whole Ukraine with the long-awaited victory. The position of people living in the east and south of the country is not yet clear, and their opinion must also be taken into account. Yes, and the country's economic development program is also highly desirable - you won’t last long on politics alone. But for what the Maydanites really need to say thanks, this is a lesson. A lesson for neighboring dictators, who no, no, and will think: maybe autocracy will still be enough, and it's time to learn how to negotiate with people, and not to disperse, plant and crush.
