Очередной музейный курьез приключился в Вене.
Leopold Museum мы штурмовали ради превосходящего все и вся Эгона Шиле и, что уж душой кривить, ради его учителя - именитого и доведенного потомками до крайнего мэйн-стрима Гюстава Декоративистовича Климта.
Но нас поджидал еще один живописанный герой. Некий Johann Martin Shmidt в 1775 году изобразил маслом на холсте известный библейский сюжет - The Doubting Thomas. Надо понимать, что сие есть Фома неверующий, тыкающий грязным пальцем в раны на бледной груди Джизуса.
Дабы усилить эффект порочной и порицаемой любопытности апостола, гражданин Shmidt уверенной академичной рукой пририсовал Фоме пенсне !!
По последним сводкам Томас откинулся году в 72, а его пресвятые мощи валялись в Индии до 6 века. Даже если бы у индусов было в тот славный век пенсне, они вряд ли бы припоминали Фоме его подлые сомнения и нахлобучивали издевательские окуляры трупу на нос.
Пенсне появилось в 16 веке и, видимо, Johann Martin Shmidt, через столетия все не мог прийти в себя от чуднОй новинки, либо он решил бунтовать против академизма, либо предвосхитил сюр, либо решил тонко пошутить над католичеством, либо был дебил.
Мда, все-таки, дебил.

Another museum odd happened in Vienna.

Hmm, nevertheless, a moron.
