Автор этой гениальной формулировки - мой дед Петр Иванович Кожухов, ветврач кавалерийского полка в отставке, которому в 70-е годы позволили навестить кузину Дусю, доживавшую свой век в стариковском приюте под Парижем.
Так точно, как у деда, у меня не получится. Но есть, что добавить.
«Liberte de expression!» - вот с чего начинается сегодня любой комментарий, любая программа на любом французском телеканале. Не сам теракт, не кровь, не смерть - покушение на свободу слова. Свободу говорить, писать и рисовать, что думаешь. Вот что в первую очередь возмутило Францию, вывело на улицы сотни тысяч человек и заставляет их стоять, взявшись за руки, на площадях и улицах.
Мы не вышли на улицы, когда задушили «Дождь». Когда закрыли одну из лучших региональных телекомпаний в Томске. Когда приняли закон о запрете рекламы на кабельных каналах, который, по сути, - смертный приговор десяткам, если не сотням телекомпаниям российской провинции.
Французы говорят, что думают, а мы молчим в тряпку, которой нам затыкают рот. Для них важно - «Liberte de expression!» А нам важнее, чтоб было что выпить, да чем закусить.

The freedom to speak, write and draw what you think. This is what primarily revolted France, took hundreds of thousands of people to the streets and makes them stand hand in hand in squares and streets.
We didn’t take to the streets when we strangled Rain. When they closed one of the best regional television companies in Tomsk. When they passed the law banning advertising on cable channels, which, in essence, is the death sentence for dozens, if not hundreds of television companies in the Russian province.
The French say what they think, and we are silent in a rag, which they plug our mouths with. For them it is important - "Liberte de expression!" And it’s more important for us that there is something to drink, but what to eat.
